Not Back To School Blog Hop {a day in the life}

Wow. Just wow. I’ve been going through some of this week’s A Day in the Life Week links and I gotta tell ya, I’m impressed.

Although, I don’t know of this schedule many of you speak of. HA!

In fact I can’t/don’t stick to schedules. I’ve tried. I fail. It makes life worse.

And to prove it, we have known the schedule of the blog hop for weeks, and I’m just now getting around to posting our school pictures. Hope you don’t mind.

I’d like to tell y’all that we stick to a firm schedule around here, but that would be a lie, and I’m all about telling the truth. Basically, we never do the same thing two days in a row. We might get started one day around 9:00 and finish up around noon. The next day can be completely different. Such as, not getting out of bed until nine & starting around noon.

We do have some sort of a routine once we get started though. Generally we all start out at the kitchen table doing lessons together such as history, spelling, science & language arts. While the older girls do seat work or reading, I go over phonics or math with Sarah. Once we are finished, Emily & Audrey go downstairs to watch their math lesson(s) for the day, while Sarah and I head to the couch for some reading {normally Bob Books} or go through flash cards.

When school is out you will find us watching a movie, reading a book, playing video games (wii, playstation), on the computer (webkinz, buildabearville, jumpstart) making something, legos, or coloring.

The girls do a lot of pretend play during the day too. They like to play house, office, host a talk show or cooking show, put on a concert or play dress up.

On a good day, we normally start getting ready for David to come home around 5:00 ~ straighten the house up, get out of our pj’s *ha* & start supper. Notice I said on a good day.

Throw in a couple fights, temper tantrums, yelling & crying and that pretty much sums up our day ;)
