New to Me

couch table-2

Words I never thought I’d speak, “I love shopping at Goodwill”

So much fun! So many goodies to be found! So nice not to have to pay full price for it ;) And I really like not having to worry about the bumps and scratches it will get when it is sitting in my house.

Last weekend I set out to try and find Sarah a chest of drawers….. Just gonna stop right there a minute……anybody else use to call them/call them now chester drawers…..just curious. Anyway, Sarah’s clothes were starting to take over our bedroom and she needed one really bad.

My first stop was Salvation Army…is it just me or are their prices kinda high? No dresser to be found BUT I did find this cute little table { I have been wanting one since we moved in} for $4.99 and the best part is I don’t have to do anything to it! It already has that “beat up” look I was wanting.

Next stop, Goodwill. Still no chester drawes *cough* chest of drawers. Getting just a wee disappointed I started to leave when I noticed a couch. A couch! We need a couch. I have been looking for a couch. I checked it all over, looked great, hardly used, looked almost brand new, except for the little bit of cat hair I saw. Thought, no problem, nothing a vacuum can’t handle. Called David, he said okay, would pick up Saturday. Woohoo.

When David brought it home he made a comment about all the cat hair on it. I thought he was exaggerating because I only noticed a couple of spots in the store. oh.my.word. that thing was covered in hair. Eeek! I now understand why classified ads say…..from a pet free home…… I never got that, until I spent 4 hours cleaning off my new to me couch. {sigh} It was totally worth it though. Its a Basset, and only cost a hundred bucks. And I won’t worry so much about the girls being around it {ha} since we did not pay an arm and leg for it.

I think by far this is my best find.

Do you like shopping at Goodwill? What is your favorite find?

Will I Always Wonder?

Like I do every night, I’m sitting here reflecting on the day. More times than not, I think about how bad I messed up, and wondering what I can do different tomorrow.

Tomorrow night, I’ll be thinking on these same things.

Will I always wonder this? Until they are grown and out on there on? And even then, when they have families of their own, will I wonder if I did all I could do to prepare them.

Homemade Bread

I have tried several times to make bread. It never, ever turns out right. Its usually hard, raw or just plain icky! But today that all changed, I’m sure it was just a fluke and that’s fine, because today we enjoyed homemade bread.

Made by me. And it was good.
