ABOUT THE BOOK

The future should be bright for Deborah Vandermark, who is now pursuing her interest in medicine alongside Dr. Christopher Clayton, who is courting her. But the lumber town is resistant to the idea of a woman physician, and she feels thwarted at every turn.

A more devastating blow occurs, however, when Christopher breaks off their relationship to return home to his troubled family. Despite her own love life going awry, Deborah is still intent to be a matchmaker for both her widowed mother and her brother, who has caught the eye of the spit-fire daughter of the local pastor.

But what will Deborah do when faced with the truth about Christopher’s family? Is there hope for the two of them…or will Jake Wyeth’s attentions finally catch Deborah’s eye instead?

No Mom Talk Monday

I’m linking up with Courtney this week for No Mom Talk Monday. [I have no idea why this is in blockquotes.]

I will be attending my first homeschool convention in a couple weeks. I am beyond excited about this. We’ve been doing this for 7 years and I am ready to sit through some encouraging seminars, check out different curriculums and fellowshipping with fellow homeschool peeps.

I’m still holding on to the kidney stone, as far as I know, and have only had a couple mild attacks. Have you had a kidney stone? They hurt really bad in case you are wondering. Worse than labor. Yes.

I’m working on a new blog and I’m so ready for a fresh new start. I’ve not been able to upgrade this url to the new updated wordpress, which causes minor problems when adding code, new themes or plugins, so David set me up a new url and hopefully I’ll be able to share my new little spot with you soon. I was trying to delete something this morning, messed up, could not fix it, and basically had to start over. ugh!  [Oh, and I’m still raising little women, just at a different home]

My sister posted this on her facebook wall yesterday and I gotta tell ya I love being a southern girl :D

I am proud to be from the South – where tea is sweet and accents are sweeter; summer starts in April; front porches are wide and words are long; macaroni and cheese is a vegetable; pecan pie is a staple; Y’all is the only proper pronoun; chicken is fried and biscuits come w/ gravy; everything is darling and someone is always getting their heart blessed. Have a good day y’all!

I say y’all all the time. You know like are all y’all going? ha! That is the one thing I requested my sister to teach her little girl while living out west. I used to hate having a southern accent. Before having kids I worked in purchasing and frequently had to make calls all over the USA and I had the hardest time getting people to understand me. Especially the word pen. And the number ten.

Kidney Stones & Pictures

What’s up Buttercup?!

Sunday morning, I found myself in pain, really bad pain.
After a trip to the ER it was confirmed, that yes,  I have a kidney stone.

This is my third.

It’s still hanging around causing problems. The other two attacks have not been as bad as the first one, so I’ve just managed the pain here at the house.

I hate kidney stones. It will not hurt my feelings if I never get another one.

Poor Sarah & Audrey cried seeing their momma in pain. Audrey almost passed out when I started throwing up in the hospital. It’s funny to hear her explain it. I think it scared her more than anything.

Emily was there too. She didn’t look up from the game she was playing on her ds. Not because it was taking her mind off of my pain, she was just that  into her game. Nothing phases that girl.

I’ve gone through 2 bags of Hershey Kisses since Sunday. They comfort me. And make it all better.

The following pictures were taken with Wayne’s lens. {I can’t remember which one it is} I couldn’t figure it out when I played around with it. While I was resting Monday David took a couple pictures with it.

I don’t know if he took this one with the lens or not. But someone was asking about the pink door awhile back and I never posted a picture. So, here ya go.

My computer is being stupid. In the middle of typing the cursor will move to another spot in the post, deleting what is already there and put the new stuff in. (sigh) Any idea why?

Hope to get around to visit with y’all today!
