What is Jumpstart
JumpStart is an award-winning adventure-based 3D virtual world that is super-personalized, wildly imaginative and really fun, but don’t let that fool you – it also teaches math, reading, and critical thinking skills so kids get a real jump start in life.
When I was asked by Jumpstart a couple weeks back about doing a review of the 3D Virtual World, I was super excited. I knew this would be something Sarah would love, so I of course said yes!
Emily & Audrey both enjoy playing on Webkinz & Buildabearville and while Sarah has accounts there as well, often times it is very frustrating for her because she cannot read. And she gets even more frustrated when I ask one of the girls to help her.
Jumpstart is wonderful for Sarah! While I do get the girls to help her (only because I lack the skills needed to play any kind of game online ha!) every now and again, she pretty much is on her own. She’s even taught her momma a thing or two.
Sarah loved creating her very own mini person (avatar) and picking out a name. I love that they made that part easy! In the past we have always had a hard time coming up with names, but on Jumpstart they provide you with a list of names to scroll through for first, middle and last. Sarah ended up with the name April Pixie Sprout. How cute it that?
Right now Sarah loves the map. I’m starting to think her map skills have already surpassed mine! And she has not had any trouble maneuvering April Pixie around this great big land. She can usually find what she’s looking for by highlighting different areas on the map waiting for it to tell her where it is she will be going.
One of the {many} things I love is once you decide where you would like to visit it states the recommended ages. This helps out a lot when we come to a game that I know will be difficult for her, I can show her that it is for this age or that. And she is perfectly content to move somewhere else.
We are still learning our way around this virtual world but so far it has been a great fit for Sarah. In the next few weeks I will be posting more about what we have learned from Jumpstart.

Jumpstart has very graciously offered a free 3 month membership to one lucky family.
All you need to do is leave a comment letting me know that you are interested. I will randomly draw a winner on Thursday.

We would be interested in that! My Little Man gets frustrated too when trying to place games on the computer.
We would love to have the chance to try that please, it sounds wonderful.
