Happy New Year

2010 is almost here! And I’m still so behind on 2009!

I have “Happy New Year” pictures to take, since I didn’t forgot to take a Christmas picture. Hopefully, I can get them in the mail by the first of next week.

We are behind on pen pal letters. Mailing gifts. Sending out thank you notes.

And the list goes on and on.

I hope y’all had a wonderful Christmas. We enjoyed so much spending time with our families. I finally got to meet my sweet, little niece. Melissa {my sister}, Eddie & Lilly drove 36 hours from AZ all the way to NC. Not only were they brave enough to drive with a 3 month old baby girl, they brought both of their dogs too!

I can barely stand to drive 30 minutes to town with my three. I can’t even begin to imagine all the whining, screaming & crying that would take place on a 36 hour drive.

Hope to get back on here soon and get some Christmas pictures posted before next Christmas HA!

Just a Bit of Nonsense

  • We wanted snow. It snowed. I’m over it. Ready for spring ;)

  • For Christmas we got a new water heater. Yay! Totally wish we coulda spent that money on something fun……. like like a new tv with a sound system or another computer, or itouches or phones. Just not a stinkin’ water heater. {although, i am glad to be having hot water again}

  • David ordered us a new video camera. Once I figure out how to use it, you will be seeing videos here on the ole blog. And I will enjoy reading your comments where you totally make fun of our southern accents. HA!

  •  I have been starting a diet, or at least trying to eat better, every day for the past week, so I can  pig out at Christmas. Not doing too good on that one.

  • Remember when I said I wanted to send a Christmas letter along with our Christmas cards? Well, won’t be sending one of those out…..or Christmas cards. {sigh} I’m thinking we are gonna send out Happy New Year 2010 photo cards, since it’s too late to take a Christmas photo and get the cards out. Oh, well.

  • I bought several bags of the melty chocolate candy from AC Moore to make candies with this year. I used two bags last week for gifts. We ate two bags while we were snowed in, one of the reasons I’m not doing too good on the whole watch what I eat thing.

  • I dread packing for our upcoming trip to Florida. The girls and I normally take up 2 or 3 or 4 suitcases just for our stuff. I’m going to try narrow it down and only take one suitcase between the 4 of us. David can pack all his clothes in one bag, we take up one bag just for our shoes.

  • We are hosting my family for Christmas this year. SO excited.

Since no post is completes without a picture. I will share this one of my sweet niece Gracie. She is a cutie and was the only one who would sit still for me this particular night.  I do think she learned, from my girls, to run real quick when she sees the camera by the end of the evening.

Gingerbread Houses & Snow

Friday we met with a local homeschooling group for a Christmas party. We sang songs, listened to the Christmas story, made gingerbread houses & ate a yummy lunch.

Remember the snow I was telling you about? Well, they got it right! We got about 8 inches of snow. The girls were SO excited. We took off sledding Friday night at the church. And Saturday they spent several hours outside building snowmen and sledding.
