When I was little, about the age of Emily, I was nicknamed giggles. I giggled at everything.
Some things never change. HA!
The past few weeks the girls have been acting silly & giggly NON-STOP. Which makes it hard to get anything accomplished.
Like school.
At least there is more laughing than crying this year.
The girls have a spelling test everyday that they have to check and make any corrections to, then write missed words 3 or 5 times each.
We spend more time checking the papers than we do on the actual test.
Because of giggling.
They get a kick out of our “Southern accents” and the fact that I can’t say “pen” without it sounding like “pin”
Or that they get to count a word correctly because when I pronounced it, I used my “twang” and they spelled a different word……correctly, I might add.
Yesterday, they about broke their giggle boxes when I spelled……up (u p)…. at first I did not get it and went on to the next word.
Then I got it.
And they laughed even harder when we got to the word(s) Mr. C-u-p-p-y.
{As a side note, we are using Sequential Spelling this year and absolutely love it! }
Kids sure make life fun, don’t they?

I looked into sequential spelling {and liked it too}. We are giving SOS a try this year with my oldest {everything except math}. It really seems to fit her strict, go-by-the-calendar personality. She’s so funny, that girl. {Not to mention, it helps me out tremendously.} We used a lot of Abeka these past few years.
Gotta love southern girls… and their accents. Ha… Precious pix. They are beautiful… like their Mama.
I love that picture
Dave and I have been talking a lot lately about homeschooling. We still have a few years before we have to make any decisions but it’s something we’re considering — if I just based it on your post today, I’d be all for it since it sounds like you are having a blast
I’m sure there are hard days too though!
Aww. What precious pictures. I can just picture you all just sitting around giggling!! How sweet!
OH yes, they do! MAKE LIFE FUN! Girls are especially giggly sometimes, aren’t they? I love this post.
Love it! Those girls are so funny. I had to read that a couple of time before I got it. Can’t wait to spend some time with you all y’all soon!!
Oh Michelle, have you started studying the planets yet?? They are probably too young to make the Uranus jokes yet… LOL
