Yard Sale & Thrift Store Finds

Last Saturday, my sister and I hit the yard sales. I’ve been meaning to post my finds but have just been so busy this week.

stand1

Right now this stand is in our bedroom until we find something that fits our room a bit better. The goal is to paint this blue and let Sarah use it as her bedside table.

I also bought a glass candy dish and wooden bowl that I forgot to get a picture of, and I just remembered I bought a pink Prada knock-off for a quarter. LOVE it!

lamp

When I asked about this lamp she told me it was $5.00 I thought it was a bit much, so, I put it back and she said she would take $2.00 for it. Got it home, does NOT work. I thought about taking it back but David said that he could fix it for me. Once we get it fixed, I’m going to paint it a brownish bronzey color. This will go upstairs in the living room. Next time I purchase anything electronic I’ll make sure it works before I buy it.

cup

I picked up a 4 piece place setting of these dishes at our first stop. SIX dollars. LOVE them. Each set has a different fruit. The box caught my eye because of the sign she had posted on it, NEVER used (still wrapped in the original tissue paper), and from a local gift shop (that is now closed) I was tickled to get these. I love them so much, I’m gonna list them on ebay! HA! The dinner plate alone is selling for about 9 bucks. Once I get my pictures made and the description typed up, David is going to list them for me. I think I’m going to start it out at $20.00 for the whole set. We’ll see what happens. Anything over $6.00 is money in my pocket.

Yesterday, I stopped by goodwill looking for a scone, which I didn’t find, but I did find several other goodies I have been looking for.

blueurn

This urn was not attractive at all when I bought it, but look how lovely it is with this pretty shade of blue. (this is the color I’m going to paint Sarah’s bedside stand)

stand

When I bought this cute little thing it was gold. This will eventually be topped off with a cute ribbon and go in the upstairs bathroom.

urn

This is another little urn that I purchased. I’m trying to decide what color to paint it, and what exactly I want to put in it, or where I’m even gonna put it!

jars

I was SOOOO excited to find these! Every trip we make to Goodwill or the Salvation Army I look up and down the glass aisle for these sweet things. LOVE them!

chalkboardpaint

Emily gets all the credit for this find. She noticed it while I was checking out! I told her to grab it up and we purchased it separately. One of the first things I am going to paint with this is a  plate to put on a stand in the kitchen. Next, we will make a little door hanger for each of the girls’ room.

WOW!!! I love that stuff! You are GOOD!! I never seem to find good stuff like that. Of course, I’m not looking at “potential” like you are… I need to start doing that.

You’ve inspired me to finally paint our deck chairs. They are yellow metal and rust now…lol Bought some dark green spray paint today! I was leaning toward barn red, but Kelsey said she liked the green better… lol She rules the roost!

Wow! You found some GREAT stuff here!!! I hardly ever find good stuff at our local goodwill. Ugh.
And I haven’t been out yard saleing in awhile. But now you’ve inspired me :-)
