Okay, first you have to pretend that you have cheap seats, and kinda turn your head at an angle, because I held the camera to get the full view thinking that I could rotate it once I got it loaded. Um, that didn’t work out to well. ‘Cause ya can’t do it! When we tried to get Miss Priss to give us another concert she said, no ’cause she already did one and wanted to sing Itsy Bitsy Spider, and well, this is much cuter!
Can you guess what we’ve been watching?
Yep, Hannah! And the song is Everybody Makes Mistakes. In case you were wondering.
(I have no clue what she is saying in the middle of the song)
I’m not what you’d call a big coffee drinker, but I do love a cup or two every now and again. I drink it mostly when it’s cold outside (below 70) or when I really need a kick in the pants to get the day going.
Matter of fact, it’s only been within the past 6 months that I had my first cup of Starbucks. Oh, it was SO yummy! But I live in a small town and the nearest one is probably 30 – 45 minutes away ,so I don’t get the daily dose of Starbucks.
It was cooling down and starting to reach the 70 degree mark Tuesday as we headed out for piano lessons, and I was freezing. I wanted a cup of coffee so bad, and in a quick attempt to get one, ran down the street to McDonald’s but didn’t have time to wait in the long drive thru line. So I did what I normally do when I don’t get my way, I whined.
Which led to Audrey’s whining that she wanted a cup, and could I PLEASE go somewhere else to get us a cup of coffee. Um, excuse me, US a cup. The child has never even had coffee!
After I told her no like a million times, I told her I would we would fix us a cup at home. (We ended up not having a cup that night because who in there right mind gives an 8 year old a cup of coffee right before bed!)
All day long yesterday, it was when can we have a cup of coffee. Last night she even drew a picture for me and told me I could not open it until this morning.
The note reads, fix cofey.
So we fixed coffee.
Just like grandma used to for me when I was little. Lots and lots of milk.
Its funny how one little cup of coffee can bring back so many childhood memories. As a child, probably about Emily & Audrey’s age, I loved to sit and watch my grandpa & grandma fix their coffee at the breakfast table on Saturday mornings. Grandma always pulled out her little cups and saucers and would fill them so full coffee would spill over onto the little saucer. She would always fix us grand kids, what she called, coffee milk, half coffee-half milk to go with our scrambled eggs & bacon. And after breakfast we were always given a special treat of Kings Syrup and butter to eat with any leftover biscuits. I guess you could call it the dessert of the breakfast hour. Oh, how I loved it!
Audrey loved her first cup of coffee and I’m sure she will be asking for a cup or two in the future.
As for me, I’m going off tonight, no kids! David is taking Emily & Audrey to see the new Star Wars movie, Sarah is going to my moms and I’m meeting Sherri for dinner. David asked what we were going to do, and I told him, probably just sit in the restaurant for a couple hours and talk uninterrupted.
Except for Sherri ’cause I have a bad habit of interrupting people.
