Christy, After a cup of coffee or two, will be hosting, One Month for Our Health, on her blog during the month of March. I decided to take the challenge along with her.
My goals for the month ~
No sodas, only drinking water, tea & juice
I will still continue with no meat
No fried foods
No sweets (cookies, cakes, donuts, all the yummy goodies I love)
Eat more fruits & veggies
Also, during this time I plan to look more into a gluten free diet. I know, I am a hypochondriac, but reading over some of the different sites has got me thinking. Dangerous, I know! I am tired of being tired, tired of having tummy problems and I really want the headaches to stop! To me it is crazy how doctors just treat the symptoms and never try to get to the bottom of what the actual problem is. Over the summer I went to a doctor who just kept trying to give me medication to help the symptoms and never wanted to talk about what could be causing them. While I am on my soapbox about doctors and medication, I’ll fuss about my grandmother’s doctor. She is on 12 or 15 different medications, she had them all filled when she came home from the hospital. Later that week she went in for a check-up and they told her to throw away a particular medication because she needed a different medicine. The medicine that she threw away was over $60 and paid about that much for the new medication. The next week same thing happened with a different medicine and then again last week. I understand that sometimes a certain medicine may not work for some people, but why not just give a week’s worth of meds to try out before you get a full bottle? Especially with older people who live on a fixed income.
Okay, enough of my fussing. If you’d like to join in click the above button and let Christy know.

Goodness, you’d think they’d give your grandma the right medication. Doctors are just too happy to prescribe drugs these days. I got some periogard stuff for inflammed gums and formula pockets. (This was the first bad dentist visit I’d ever had.) Anyway, she said the stuff would leave a bad taste in my mouth and it would turn my teeth brown. Gross! I’m not getting it. I’ve been reading about hydrogen peroxide. I think I’ll use that instead. You can use that stuff for just about anything. I had no idea how versitile it was. I may start cleaning house with it. It also said spraying it on your hair would bring about natural highlights. Hmmm!
