The count down is on, for Emily anyway! She is so ready to get started. About twice a week she’ll ask me if we can get started. She is upset that we are going to wait until August 6th. She wants to start the week of July 23rd but I need a couple of more weeks to get ready. I still have a couple of things I need to order for Audrey and Sarah. Plus, this year I want to be a little more organized. I want to have at least the first semester of school planned out before we get started. Emily will be getting double doses in History and Science this year but I am sure that she will not mind one bit. All of her schooling this year will be on the computer (Switched on Schoolhouse) but I am going to have her finish up Beautiful Feet and Creation with Botany with Audrey. I don’t know what I want to use for handwriting. So far we have not used a program and I don’t know if I am going to purchase one this year or not. I may just keep on going with copywork. I am thinking about maybe adding dictation in this year as well. I really love the Charlotte Mason approach to schooling and when I can, I incorporate some of it into our days. I do need to refresh my memory and pick up the books again. David will be doing art with the girls 2-3 nights a week and maybe on Saturdays. As of now this is what we have planned ~

For reading I may use Abeka for Audrey. I already have some of the books so I’ll just order the ones I need throughout the year.
Sarah will be using Learning Numbers with Button Bear (counting and recognizing numbers & colors) I may even get her the Alphabet one too ~ Emily has already taught her to count to ten and her vowels and is now teaching her
I love unit studies so I will be adding those here and there. Around the holidays these are extra fun!
